WORK EXPERIENCE

ADOBE MAX INSIDER SEPTEMBER 2014 – PRESENT LOS ANGELES, CA

Rebecca works for Adobe as an Insider for their creativity conferences in Los Angeles. In 2014 Rebecca focused primarily on social media, covering the event on the Adobe Blog itself. She also worked with Adobe Photoshop on a “creativity for change” campaign, where she developed programs for inner-city youth to learn Adobe tools.

OAKLAND YOUTH COMMISSION CHAIR JUN 2013 - PRESENT OAKLAND, CA

Rebecca is a member of Oakland Youth Commission and serves as a voice for youth by advising the City Council on key policy issues affecting youth. The Commission meets with civic leaders to advocate for youth needs.

ADOBE YOUTH VOICES REPRESENTATIVE AUGUST 2014- PRESENT 

Rebecca stands are a youth representative for Adobe Inc. and their social initiative for fostering creativity in youth.

CHILDREN’S BOOK AUTHOR WRITER MAY 2011 – PRESENT BERKELEY, CA

Rebecca is currently writing a children's picture book on the global empowerment of girls through education. In collaboration with Columbia’s Book Breakthrough Program, Rebecca works to publish an e-book and print book using recycled materials.

OAKLAND CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL YOUTH PROGRAM COORDINATOR NOV 2012- JUNE 2014 OAKLAND, CA

Rebecca volunteers at the Children's Hospital in Oakland in the Surgery Center. Rebecca works with young patients during their care and recovery at the hospital.

Rebecca won Grand Prize at the Girls Impact the World film festival at Harvard University for her documentary "International Boulevard," focused on Commercially Sexually Exploited Minors in Oakland, California. The film festival featured entries from around the world, judged by Nobel Laureates and internationally recognized leaders.

First place winner at American Protégé in the genre of Musical Theater and Jazz. Winners performed at Carnegie Hall. "American Protégé is designed for young musicians, actors, singers and dancers on the path to a successful career.”

American Fine Arts Festival Feb 2013 1st Place Winner New York, NY 

Rebecca won first place for vocal music at the American Fine Arts Festival. She performed her winning Jazz piece along with an opera solo at Carnegie Hall. "The American Fine Arts Festival (AFAF) was established in 2003 by Vladimir Agilin with the objective of promoting musical education and fostering the study and understanding of classical music.”
